Saturday Club for under-7 and under-8 boys and girls (school years 2 and 3) takes place every Saturday from 9.30am until 10.30am at Balcarras School astroturf, East End Road, Charlton Kings, from 15 September 2007.

Last year's YR3 children will be playing in the Cheltenham Junior League this season. It is pleasing that the club was able to enter 2 x teams into the league, with around 35 children signed on. We wish them well, and we hope to report on the teams' progress from time to time.

We have held the weekly fees at £ 2.00 per session.

Please ensure the children are equipped with suitable trainers/sports shoes (no studs) , shin pads and a drink. As we move into autumn/winter, please ensure the children have warm suitable clothing.

This year the Year 2 and 3 children will train separately as Under 7s and Under 8s. The younger children will be trained in the basics - passing, control, shooting etc - and we will arrange some friendly games after Christmas. The under 8s will also receive basics training, with friendly games, but we will include additional skills to prepare for the U9s league in 2008.

As always, we are keen for parents to help out with the club. We would love to hear from mum or dads who would be happy to collect the subs on a Saturday morning, or might enjoy lending a hand with the training/routines. Tim helped out once in 1994 and have been involved with the Club ever since. The club is totally reliant on help and effort from volunteers, all the volunteers are parents.

Please note: All children should wear clothes suitable for the weather; trainers (no football boots!) and shinpads are essential. Please bring a drink.
